Getting On At Work
Whatever stage you are at in life, learning new skills can improve your career prospects. Government research projects that in future there will be fewer jobs available for people lacking skills – which means that having skills and gaining new ones is likely to become increasingly important as time goes by.
If you are currently in work or volunteering, you may be able to receive training through your employer via the Apprenticeship or Train to Gain programmes.
Of course, there is nothing to prevent you from arranging your own training and in many cases; financial help is available through Learning and Skills Council.
